We at Precious Petals take pride in sending you only the freshest flowers.  We would like to offer you this handy guide to help you preserve your arrangements and plants so that they look their healthiest for the longest period of time.  They should stay fresh for days to come with just a little bit of maintenance.  If you have any questions concerning their care, please call us and we will be happy to help you.

Floral Arrangements:
Upon receiving your floral arrangement, check the water level.  Add water daily with the floral preservative provided keeping the water level near the top of the container.  Place your arrangement away from heat and drafts.  Always protect the surface of your table top by placing a saucer or plate under the container or vase.

Fresh cut flowers and wrapped Rose bouquets:
As soon as you receive them, remove any water tubes or wraps that may be attached, add floral preservative to a clean vase with water.  Remove any foliage from each stem that would be submerged in the water.  Cut each stem at an angle under running water.  Refill with water daily.  Place your arrangement away from heat and drafts.  Always protect the surface of your table top by placing a saucer or plate under the container or vase.

Green Plants:
Medium light locations are preferred by most green plants.  This means light near a sunny window but protected from direct sun.  Moderately moist soil is best.  Avoid over watering.  Always allow a watered plant to drain freely.  Never let the pot sit in water.  Temperatures found in most homes are acceptable, but moderate locations are preferred.  Ideally your plants would prefer 70 degree days and 55 degree nights.  Always protect the surface of your table top by placing a saucer or plate under the container.

Fertilizer:
If plants are kept for an extended period, use a house plant fertilizer according to the manufacturers’ directions.

Tidbit:
Are you frustrated by the stains of the lily stamen but enjoy their beauty and fragrance?  Just gently remove the stamen the first moment you see it appear from a bud.  This will eliminate any future stains.  We at Precious Petals will remove any stamens that are visible to us prior to leaving our shop.
